Mauricette Djengue is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, currently studying for a master’s degree in wealth management and real estate markets in Lyon, France, after having previously obtained a master’s degree in business law and taxation as well as a master’s degree in notary law and wealth management.
Born in 1997 in Cotonou, Benin, art has been her passion since childhood, visiting exhibitions, artists’ studios and becoming a photographic model for Beninese artists.
She experienced the push to begin her own creative practice during the confinement imposed by the pandemic. She began practicing body-art make-up techniques inspired by Instagram, and was immediately greeted with success by online audiences but also the traditional media, including multiple interviews with ORTB, Benin’s national television channel. A year on from this recognition and appreciation for her Body Painting work, she turned to experimenting with different techniques on canvas.
