About  Teta Chel (Rwanda, 1999)

Born in 1999, artist Teta Micheline, aka Teta Chel, graduated from Nyundo School of Art in 2019, and explores various artistic media such as painting, poetry and tattooing. Through semi-abstract compositions, she tackles taboo subjects such as mental health and sexuality.  Teta Chel has held two solo exhibitions in Rwanda and participated in a number of notable group shows, including “Let’s bee together” in 2021 by Iteme Arts Space, and in 2023: “Walk with me” and “Sisterhood of the Arts” organised by Impundu Arts, the “June exhibition” at Indiba Arts Space, as well as “Rooted in Africa” at the Loft at Liz’s in Los Angeles, USA.
