Senayt Santoro est une photographe américaine née à Asmara, en Érythrée, élevée en Éthiopie et aux États-Unis. Elle a étudié l'histoire de l'art et les beaux-arts au Paier College of Art et à la Southern Connecticut State University. Elle a obtenu une maîtrise en études photographiques à l'université de Westminster, à Londres.
Elle a commencé sa carrière de photographe en tant que photojournaliste stagiaire au New Have Register dans le Connecticut. Pendant son séjour aux États-Unis, elle a travaillé dans le Connecticut et à New York pour des clients tels que The Source Magazine, Savoy Magazine, AmeriCares et la galerie d'art de l'université de Yale.
Avant de s'installer à Genève, en Suisse, Senayt Santoro a vécu à Londres, au Royaume-Uni, où elle a travaillé en tant que photographe indépendante et archiviste d'images chez Autograph ABP. Elle a entrepris un certain nombre de projets photographiques et a beaucoup exposé, notamment à la Tate Britain et à la Hayward Gallery.
